“Time management is the ability to plan and control how you spend the hours in your day to effectively accomplish your goals” (psychologytoday.com/basics/time-management, May 30, 2014).
This article offers 4 tips to manage your time effectively. These tips are designed to help you conduction your subconscious mind to engage in peak performance activities for work-life balance.
1. Positive self-talk or positive affirmations: They’re positive statements you say to yourself regularly to condition your subconscious mind to complete activities that bring you the greatest results or solutions.
For example, you can enthusiastically repeat statements such as “I have a balance life.” “I’m focused.” “I’m concentrating and engaging in activities that bring me the highest results.” “I use my time well!”
The power of positive affirmations or positive self-talk is “belief.” You must believe that you have the power to transform your life by engaging in activities that bring full work-life balance. It’s not enough to repeat positive affirmations, but you must believe them.
2. Visualization or mental pictures of what you want to achieve to have a productive life. It is a starting point to write a list of what you want to achieve. Visualization allows you to influence your subconscious mind by giving visual cues of what you want to accomplish to have a work-life balance. As you consistently introduce the images you want to achieve, your subconscious mind would accept them as reality. You’re more likely to achieve what you constantly focus on.
3. Quiet time: This strategy allows you to take time off to reflect on activities or actions you need to take for work-life balance. It allows you to reset your mind and focus on what matters most to you.
4. Action: The 4th strategy to time management is action. If there’s no action, there’s no result. Action is a must in other to have a work-life balance. You and I must take the necessary actions to achieve a fulfilling and productive life.
When taking the steps required to achieving your goals, I encourage you to focus on the desired outcome. Another word, think of the end in mind and act as if you already accomplish what you want. This tip will make the process of getting what you want more enjoyable.
